Quality of Ground Water in Aquifer Outcrops in the Trinity River Basin

(First Cycle 1993-2002)

Four studies dealing with the quality of ground water where four aquifers outcrop within the boundaries of the Trinity River Basin were done from August 1993 to August 1994. Water was sampled from about 23 domestic wells each in the Trinity, Carrizo-Wilcox, and Gulf Coast aquifers. Water samples were collected from twenty-eight constructed monitoring wells in shallow ground water of the Woodbine aquifer. All samples were analyzed for selected constituents including chloride, fluoride, sulfate, dissolved solids, nitrate nitrogen, trace elements, volatile organic contaminants, and pesticides.
