Water-Quality Information and Data
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) investigates the occurrence, quantity, quality, distribution, and movement of surface and underground waters and disseminates the data to the public, State and local governments, public and private utilities, and other Federal agencies involved with managing water resources. If you are looking for geographical/locational information for all stations, you can access historical ground water data with latitude/longitude information for all sites in NWIS Web at URL: http://waterdata.usgs.gov/tx/nwis/inventory by using the Choose Site Selection Criteria menus. We recommend using/checking County for Site Location and Data type for Site Attribute. Then click Submit. This action will produce a retrieval page where you may select all counties holding the Ctrl key as you scroll through the county list AND selecting Water Quality for Data type. Then further down that page, you may select in the Choose Output Format section Site-description information display in either Table format or another of your selection AND from a scollable list select the type of lat/long information you prefer. The USGS Texas Water Science Center has collected and stored 240,299 discrete environmental water quality samples at 10,800 sites since January 1, 1900 totaling 4,999,039 individual results as of October 24, 2007. Below is a breakdown of the types of water quality samples taken. Water-Quality DataWater-Quality Data
