Texas Mapping Partnership Office

Edward-Trinity Aquifer Project

This project is part of the Geographic Analysis & Monitoring Program (GAM) and is directed out of the Rocky Mountain Mapping Center (RMMC)  in Denver, Colorado.  The project intends to expand the current research investigations beyond the Edwards Aquifer to include the Trinity River hydrologic system and analyze landscape change, water resource demands, and environmental impacts for the San Antonio-Austin urban corridor.  The Texas MPO is contributing to this project through various tasks including acquisition of  local datasets, attending local and regional planning meetings, and building partnerships and affiliations with organizations focusing on similar research.   Other collaborators/partners include the The Greater Austin-San Antonio Corridor Council's Land and Greenspace Committee (ASACC), the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), and the Community and Regional Planning Department, University of Texas at Austin (UTCRP).
